Project Purpose and Overview

Library services in the City (and broader Sacramento County) are provided by the Sacramento Public Library Authority. Each community is responsible for providing the physical space for public libraries within its jurisdiction. SPL then occupies and operates library services. Elk Grove residents are currently served by two libraries within the City - the Elk Grove Branch in Old Town Elk Grove and the Franklin Branch, which is co-located with Franklin High School.

Current Status

Construction is underway and anticipated to be completed in summer of 2026.
