On April 8, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to the area of Shasta Lily Drive, just south of Sheldon North Drive, for a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 58-year-old female pedestrian was walking westbound across Shasta Lily Drive, outside of a marked crosswalk, when she was struck in the southbound lane by a Honda Civic. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

On April 14, 2026, she succumbed to those injuries at the hospital. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
