National Community Survey (NCS)

The City of Elk Grove partners with Polco to conduct the National Community Survey (NCS), a biennial initiative designed to gauge resident opinions on public safety, infrastructure, the economy, and overall quality of life. This process continues a long-standing commitment to data-driven improvement that began in 2009, and full results will be shared with the public once compiled by Polco. If you have any questions regarding the survey process or how the data is used, please contact Senior Management Analyst Ash Kumar

National Business Survey (NBS)

Polco and the National Research Center, Inc. offer another survey titled “The National Business Survey,” designed to measure business owner opinions across the following dimensions: quality of life, facets of livability, community amenities, business climate, workforce support, workforce readiness, business growth, governance, and more. Under the direction of the City’s Office of Economic Development, Polco conducted the survey for the first time in Elk Grove from February 12, 2025, to March 19, 2025.

The results of the survey may assist in understanding business needs and help shape City strategy and goals. The Office of Economic Development plans to conduct the survey every two years, in the years when the NCS is not conducted.

Residents and business owners can contact Economic Development Analyst Mel Lasher for questions related to the survey.
