A 61-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run collision on Bruceville Road, and Traffic Investigators are searching for the driver and truck involved.

On February 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a hit-and-run collision on Bruceville Road between Bilby Road and Boa Nova Drive.

Officers arrived on scene and immediately began rendering aid. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on Bruceville Road when it struck the victim, who was repairing a flat tire on his vehicle, which was parked on the west shoulder near the fog line.

The suspect and suspect vehicle are still outstanding. The vehicle is described as a Dodge pickup truck, last seen traveling southbound on Bruceville Road, and is believed to have damage to the front passenger side.

Identification of the deceased will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
