An argument at an Elk Grove gas station erupted into gunfire, leaving one man wounded.

Elk Grove Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Chevron gas station located at 10610 Promenade Parkway on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at around 7:45 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground near the gas pumps with gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate medical aid until fire personnel arrived and transported him to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.

The investigation revealed the shooting began as an argument between the victim and the suspect. During the dispute, the suspect and the victim exchanged gunfire. The suspect then drove away from the scene.

This morning, August 28th, detectives were notified that the suspect, 33-year-old Joshua Cash of Sacramento, had turned himself in to a Bay Area law enforcement agency. Elk Grove Police detectives transported him back to Sacramento County and booked him into the Main Jail on charges of attempted murder (Penal Code 664/187 (A)) and felon in possession of a firearm (Penal Code 29800 (A)(1)).
