The City of Elk Grove is pleased to announce the appointment of Rajneil Prasad as its new Finance Director.
Mr. Prasad comes to the city with more than a decade of municipal finance experience. He has served as the Finance Director for the City of Napa (population 78,000) since 2023. Prior to that role, he was Napa’s Deputy Finance Director. His arrival in Elk Grove marks a return to the Sacramento region having served in previous finance positions with the cities of Citrus Heights and West Sacramento.
"We are excited to welcome Rajneil to Elk Grove’s leadership team,” said Elk Grove’s Assistant City Manager, Jaqui Guzmán. “Raj’s deep technical expertise, collaborative approach, and commitment to continuous improvement will be tremendous assets to our organization.”
Mr. Prasad holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and a master’s degree in accountancy from William Jessup University.
“I’m honored to join the City of Elk Grove and contribute to a team dedicated to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and strategic growth,” said Prasad. “I look forward to collaborating with city leadership and the community to ensure we continue building a strong financial foundation for the future.”
As Finance Director, Mr. Prasad will oversee the City’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal reporting. He will officially assume his new role on May 12.
