Elk Grove Police Department One-Day Alcohol License Request (For ABC-221)

To obtain law enforcement approval from the Elk Grove Police Department (EGPD) for a California Alcoholic Beverage Control Daily License (ABC-221), please complete the EGPD One-Day Alcohol License Request Form.

Note: This form satisfies the law enforcement signature requirement on the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s ABC-221 form.

How to Submit the EGPD One Day Alcohol License Request

Once completed, submit the Elk Grove PD One-Day Alcohol License Request Form:

  • In person at the EGPD Service Center:

Deadline: Submit your form at least 2 weeks prior to your event date.

Fee: There is no fee for law enforcement review.
 

After Submission

Once reviewed, law enforcement personnel will notify the applicant via email. If approved, the signed Elk Grove PD One-Day Request form will be emailed to the applicant.  

Important Note

The signed EGPD form must be attached to your ABC-221 application and submitted to your local ABC District Office.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to:

  • Complete the full ABC-221 application
  • Attach the signed EGPD form
  • Submit all documents to the local ABC District Office within ABC’s required timeline

Note: Approval from the Elk Grove Police Department does not guarantee approval of your ABC-221 application. Final approval is issued solely by ABC.
 

Security Requirements

All events operating under an ABC Daily License within the City of Elk Grove must have security personnel onsite, based on expected attendance:

  • 90-150 attendees: Minimum of 1 security guard
  • 151–300 attendees: Minimum of 2 security guards
  • 301–500 attendees: Minimum of 3 security guards
  • 501+ attendees: Minimum of 4 security guards.

Events will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Additional security may be required depending on the event’s size, nature, and/or past history.
 

Security Officer Qualifications

  • Security officers must be licensed by the Department of Consumer Affairs – Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), or be California sworn peace officers.
  • Officers must be in uniform.
  • Security personnel may not participate in the event.
